The Alzheimer’s Australia Dementia Research Foundation (AADRF) is pleased to announce the Dementia Grants Program - Round 1 is now open with a total of $1 million worth of grants on offer to new and early career researchers this year. **Applications closed 9 May 2017**
On Friday 17 October, the Australian Government’s National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) announced $540 million new funding for health and medical research. Of this, $18 million was awarded to 29 dementia research projects and researchers.
According to the NHMRC, the grants cover a range of innovative research projects, from genetic studies of twins, to studying the effects of an intergenerational activity program.
Twenty nine of Australia’s best and brightest young scientists will share in $2.5 million to conduct ground-breaking dementia research, following an announcement by the Alzheimer’s Australia Dementia Research Foundation, naming the 2013 grant recipients.
